Disney Channel dialed up some suite ratings with Friday's made-for-TV film "The Suite Life Movie."
The movie - starring Dylan and Cole Sprouse as teen twins with eventful lives and based on Disney's hit series "The Suite Life with Zack and Cody" - pulled in 5.2 million total viewers, according to the Nielsen Co., which made it Friday's top scripted program across all TV.
By comparison, Fox's sci-fi drama "Fringe" - which just got renewed for another season - delivered just 3.9 million. (CBS won the night with NCAA basketball, which averaged 8 million.)
"Suite Life" is the year's top movie in kid demos. The market for tween movies is getting increasingly competitive: Last year, Nickelodeon drew 7.6 million with its "Fred: the Movie," starring helium-voiced clown Fred Figglehorn (Lucas Cruikshank).
