TRAILER

RIO is a 3D motion picture event from Blue Sky Studios, the makers of the “Ice Age” films and one of the most successful producers of animated feature films in the world. The comedy-adventure centers on Blu, a rare macaw who leaves the comforts of his cage in small town Minnesota for the exotic wonders of Rio de Janeiro. But Blu’s new life and adventures in Rio are complicated by the fact that he can’t fly. Lucky for Blu, his new menagerie of friends are ready to help him find his inner-hero – and teach him what it really means to soar.

Best buds Rick and Fred (Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis) have both been married for many years. When they begin to show signs of restlessness at home, their wives (Jenna Fischer and Christina Applegate) take a bold approach to revitalize their marriages: they grant the guys a “hall pass,” one week of freedom to do whatever they want. No questions asked.

At first, it sounds like a dream come true for Rick and Fred, but they quickly discover that their expectations of the single life, and themselves, are completely and hilariously out of sync with reality.

Nicolas Cage (“Bad Lieutenant”, “Adaptation”) stars as a vengeance-fuelled father who breaks out of Hell to pursue the killers of his daughter and save her kidnapped baby in Lionsgate’s DRIVE ANGRY 3D, the new in-your-face shocker from the team behind “My Bloody Valentine 3D”, director Patrick Lussier and fellow writer Todd Farmer.

Milton (Cage), a hardened felon, has broken out of Hell for one last chance at redemption. Intent on stopping a vicious cult who murdered his daughter, he has three days to stop them before they sacrifice her baby beneath a full moon. He’s joined by Piper (Heard), a young, sexy waitress, who liberates her boyfriend’s cherry-red muscle car in order to help Milton.

Now the two of them are hot on the trail of the deadly leader of the cult, Jonah (Burke), who believes it is his destiny to use the baby to unleash Hell on Earth. But the bloodthirsty cult is the least of Milton’s problems. The police are after him too. And worse, an enigmatic killer known only as The Accountant (Fichtner) has been sent by the Devil to retrieve Milton and deliver him back to Hell.

The Oscar-winning star is joined on screen by William Fichtner (“The Dark Knight”), Amber Heard (“The Rum Diary”), Billy Burke (“Untraceable”), Simona Williams and Katy Mixon.

AFRICA UNITED tells the extraordinary story of three Rwandan children and their bid to achieve their ultimate dream - to take part in the opening ceremony of the 2010 Football World Cup in Johannesburg.

On the way to the vital selection trial, disaster strikes when Fabrice, Dudu and Beatrice board the wrong bus and cross into the Congo. Without papers, money or a believable story, they are escorted to a children's refugee camp. But with considerable ingenuity and sass (and a World Cup wall chart for a map), our pint-sized heroes escape the camp and set off in pursuit of their dream, picking up along the way a “dream team” of displaced kids, who help them negotiate a series of thrilling and hilarious adventures.
During their 3000 mile journey, we encounter an Africa few people ever see; experience an epic adventure across seven countries; and feel the joy, laughter and hope that comes from making an incredible journey together. AFRICA UNITED is the feature-length directorial debut by Debs Gardner-Paterson.

Africa United is released in UK cinemas 22nd October.

Acclaimed filmmaker Zack Snyder makes his animation debut with the fantasy family adventure LEGEND OF THE GUARDIANS: THE OWLS OF GA’HOOLE based on the beloved Guardians of Ga’Hoole books by Kathryn Lasky. The film follows Soren, a young owl enthralled by his father’s epic stories of the Guardians of Ga’ Hoole, a mythic band of winged warriors who had fought a great battle to save all of owlkind from the evil Pure Ones.

While Soren dreams of someday joining his heroes, his older brother, Kludd, scoffs at the notion, and yearns to hunt, fly and steal his father’s favor from his younger sibling. But Kludd’s jealousy has terrible consequences—causing both owlets to fall from their treetop home and right into the talons of the Pure Ones. Now it is up to Soren to make a daring escape with the help of other brave young owls. Together they soar across the sea and through the mist to find the Great Tree, home of the legendary Guardians—Soren’s only hope of defeating the Pure Ones and saving the owl kingdoms.

The film features the voices of Emily Barclay, Abbie Cornish, Emilie de Ravin, Ryan Kwanten, Miriam Margolyes, Helen Mirren, Sam Neill, Geoffrey Rush, Jim Sturgess, Hugo Weaving and David Wenham.
