In the US, Tangled was the highest opening film ever for Walt Disney Animation Studios and the second biggest Thanksgiving weekend opener behind Disney Pixar’s own Toy Story 2. Disney now holds all top five three-day Thanksgiving opening records in industry history (Toy Story 2, Tangled, Enchanted, 101 Dalmatians, A Bugs Life).
‘Tangled’, which is a modern take on the classic fairy tale Rapunzel, has received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song and the UK critics were as enthusiastic as cinema goers with their praise:

In celebration of Disney’s 50th animated film ‘Tangled’, BFI Southbank and The Walt Disney Company has launched a unique season that gives audiences, for the first time ever, the opportunity to enjoy the magic of Disney’s entire stable of fifty animation feature films on the big screen throughout 2011.
‘Tangled’ has also been a big hit in the 56 UK Disney stores where the film has inspired an enchanting range of products which has been delighting little girls looking to recreate the film’s storyline at home. The extensive product range includes dolls, dress up, role play, beauty products, books and stationery, home and fashion items. Best sellers include the Rapunzel costume and wig and the Pascal Plush which sold out before the film even launched, new deliveries are due in stores in Spring.
